FAQ Posing Shoe Topic/Recap

Choosing your new posing shoes can be both very exciting & just a little stressful too. You have to consider quite a few things other than just the prettiest or sparkliest pair. Your heels should help your posing, not hinder it. So, what are the important things to consider?

The federation

Each federation has their own rules and regulations in regards to mandatory poses, show layout, bikinis etc…Heels are no different. When you have chosen your shows be sure to double check the federations website so you aren’t choosing a style that they don’t allow. The rules may be in regards to heel height, platform or colour.

Your ‘feet type’

Do you have narrow, standard or wide feet? We have shoes suitable to all types of feet. A heel that is too tight or loose may impact your posing, cause you to feel unstable/unsecure in your shoe therefore affecting your overall presentation & confidence. Not to mention, they will be uncomfortable for you! For example, for narrow feet we may recommend the Lip or Elegant, whereas for wide feet we may recommend the majesty or glory (also our two newest styles!) You can measure your feet to double check what size you need via our size guide on each product page too.

Heel & platform height

We have two sections for heel heights…4-4.5” and 5”. It’s a common misconception that if you choose a lower heel it will be better as a first timer in particular. Now this isn’t 100% true. If you are super unconfident in heel then this may be beneficial. However, our 5” heels have a higher platform, this platform actually offsets the extra 0.5” and can actually help you in poses where you have to ‘screw’ your foot into the ground. This is something that you will, again, have to double check with your federations rules and regulations.

Straps or no straps

Now this is a very individual choice. Some people love the strapless mules and find these to be very comfortable, look nicer etc. Others (including myself!) prefer to have a strap as it makes you feel a little more secure and ‘safe’ in the shoe. If you are a first timer, or not too confident in heels we do often recommend a strap as it gives you one less thing to worry about (having your shoe slip off on stage). However, if you really aren’t sure or you want to have both options you can always purchase strapless heels and some detachable straps2 in 1 heels, say what?!

Plain or diamante

Again, this is a very personal choice. Having diamantes (or not) WILL NOT affect placings. The judges aren’t interested whether your shoes sparkle or not. This is purely a decision based on what you prefer. Are you a glitz & glam girl or a plain princess? (We love both either way!)

Majesty & Glory

The new styles on the block

We wanted to add this on here as it is a common question that we receive. “What is the difference between the two?!”. Well, they are both 5”, wider fitting heels. The only difference is the platform height. The Glory has a 16mm platform and the Majesty has a 25mm platform. Other than that, they are both very similar and both styles come in a strap/strapless, plain/diamante version!

Look after you heels!

  • Once you have your heels, remember to look after them!

  • Use the bag provided when travelling with them to keep them clean and in good condition.

  • Don’t do up the straps too tight - This can cause them to weaken over time and snap.

  • Be gentle with them, the straps in particular.

  • Clean them with warm soapy water & use a cotton bud/hairgrip wrapped in tissue (or something similar) to clean down the sides of the plastic around the toe bed.

We hope that this clears up some questions that you may have when choosing the perfect posing heels. However, if you do have any more questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us on Instagram or Email.

Afterall, we are pretty much the fairy godmothers of heels…
