Majesty 508 vs Cocktail 508 — Which One Is Right for You?

It's the question we get asked more than almost any other. And it makes sense, because from a photo they can look pretty similar. Both are 5 inch clear heels. Both are hugely popular. Both are in stock and shipping now.

But they're built differently — and that difference matters more than most people realise, especially when it comes to your posing.

Here's everything you need to know.

The width difference

This is the starting point for most people.

The Majesty 508 is built on Pleaser's comfort width last — the widest fit in the Pleaser range. More room across the forefoot, wider toe bed, no squeezing. If you have wider feet, or you find most heels feel tight across the ball of your foot, the Majesty is almost always the right call.

The Cocktail 508 is normal to wide fit. It's comfortably wider than a standard heel — but it's not comfort width. If the Majesty feels too roomy, or you have standard to slightly wider feet and want a more fitted feel, the Cocktail is likely your shoe.

One thing worth knowing: the fit description on the Cocktail says normal to wide, and that's accurate — but if you genuinely need the maximum width option, the Majesty will suit you better.

The platform difference — and why it matters for posing

This is the part that doesn't get talked about enough.

The Majesty 508 has the flattest platform in the range. It sits more flush to the floor, which means your weight is distributed more evenly across the whole foot. Stabilisation in the Majesty tends to come through the front of the foot and toes — you're pressing into the ground from a flatter base.

The Cocktail 508 has a slightly more arched platform. The arch means the contact point at the front of the shoe is slightly lower, which can actually help some competitors get onto the ball of their foot more easily during posing — particularly in side poses and quarter turns.

Neither is better than the other. But they feel different to pose in, and it's worth knowing which one suits your posing style before show day. This is something that's easy to miss when you're being coached on posing — the focus is naturally on your body positioning, not the mechanics of the heel itself. Understanding how your specific shoe interacts with your posing is something the KOMPAK Posing Shoe School covers in detail, and it's worth exploring if you want to get more out of your heel choice.

So which one?

If you're genuinely unsure, here's the honest shortcut:

Go Majesty if: you have wider feet, you want maximum stability, or you're newer to heels and want a flatter, more forgiving platform underfoot.

Go Cocktail if: you have standard to wider feet, you want a slightly more fitted feel, or your posing coach has you working on getting more onto the ball of your foot in side poses.
