WHY a platform heel really helps with posing.

WHY DOES A PLATFORM REALLY MATTER?

Being someone who wasn’t confident at all in wearing heels, a platform really was my saviour.

This goes for when I started wearing heels for nights out (which was very rare) AND when I started posing.

I started on a non platform heel, as thats what everyone at the time was wearing! So trying to tackle both learning to pose AND walk in heels felt like a uphill battle.

A combination of more education around heels, more federations producing more inclusive posing shoe rules, and our communication around the importance of allowing athletes more choice when it came to their heel choice has allowed more and more people to feel more confident in their posing, and in their physique over the years, which we have LOVED to witness over the years.

PLATFORM HEELS SOLVE A FEW THINGS:

The platform under the ball of the foot helps distribute weight more evenly. Meaning better overall balance and stability when walking, and transitioning in particular.

They reduce the pressure on the toes and the front of the foot, meaning you will be able to wear your heels for longer. Which is a win for when posing for long periods of time AND when they have you on stage for long periods of time.

Avoids additional strain on the ankle, as the even distribution of weight allows for ankle mobility to not be as compromised.
